Announcement
CEspine is the acronym for the project
Cost-Effectiveness of New Treatment Strategies in Spine Surgery: Evaluation of
Patient-Based Outcome, Health and Social Economic Consequences in Denmark, which
was conceived in a multidisciplinary research group during 2008. The project was
granted 10.1 million DKK from the Danish Strategic Research Council and thus
became a reality from January 1, 2009. With the support of additional funding
sources, it is a 4-year project which aims at improving the existing regimens
for treating spine diseases for the benefit of both patients and society. The
partners in the project represent the three largest cities in Denmark;
Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Odense and unifies health and social science in a
multidisciplinary organisation with members from occupational medicine, spine
surgery, health service research and health economics.
